Once uninstalled, the message was gone.

Paste special is not showing standard features

Problem: Copy-paste in excel doesn't show paste special for formatting

On the internet, it is said that skype is causing this, and that browsers should be closed, with add-in for skype disabled :
in this case, skype was not installed on user's PC. So immediate solution was to close Mozilla and IE -
and copy - paste worked ok.

Mail merge items show various decimal points, only 2 are needed

Problem: In Excel, mail merge option inserts decimal points with 0,xx and 0,xxxxxxx format and user wants only 0,xx

No text when forwarding mail

Problem: In Outlook 2003 there is no message body when forwarding

User had local folder with messages - when opened from this location there is message text, however when user tries to reply or forward, there is no body message.
All mails located in Outlook worked fine when forwarding.

It didn't help to set filtering none:
Tools, Options, General Tab, Email Options... ( button), General Tab "Html Options" > HTML filtering Options: - Select "none"

Also it didn't help to set automatic colour font, nor removing add-ins.

Workaround that helped was to drag e-mails from folder back to outlook folder,
then it worked - message appeared when hitting forward (or reply).

Problem was caused by hidden OLK folder. The location of it can be found here:
registry - find; OutlookSecureTempFolder
once found, there is location to OLKxx folder,

IE opening Datasheet view error

Problem: "The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons" error

This errror happened on Windows XP 32bit and IE8 with Office 2003.
Microsoft claims that it should run on 64-bit Windows with Office 2010 in order to function fine.
Source of the problem was installation of Visio 2010 and Project 2007 alongside with Office 2003.
Once both the Visio and Project were removed, page could display Datasheet view.

msi NVIDIA GeForce GT630 no picture

Problem: msi Graphics card has no output

Monitor was connected via analogue cable, somehow DVI was the default one, and monitor should be connected to DVI to instal the card, then switch primary monitor at display settings to make analogue active.

In Outlook 2010, PST as default doesn't work

Problem: PST file is set as default, however mails keep coming into mailbox

In Outlook 2010 it's not enough to set default PST,

Selected account delivers new messages to the following location:

Linux Mint wireless network problem

Problem: Wireless network is connected, internet drops from time to time

Linux Mint 14 Nadia, it connects to router (ZTE) - wireless is connected all the time, also there are no driver problem(product: AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter , vendor: Atheros Communications Inc.), however, in random time, internet suddenly stops working. Even connecting to the wireless router is not possible during internet "blackout". And all of suddenly starts to work again, all by itself. Then drops again etc. At the same time, the internet is working fine on Windows PC.

Solution is - add static IP address.

That was temporary fix, fix was plugging to network cable.

Canon iR 1018 drivers for Windows7 not recognized

Problem: Canon iR1018 driver for windows 7 64bit cannot be installed

Installation was in two parts - one part was instaled by drivers provided by Canon web page.
However, second part - scanner - could not be instaled by any driver at Canon web page.
Solution was - to use drivers for XP, Vista.

Another problem is that Toolbox utility for scanner is not offered at drivers' Canon web page - it can be found via google.

Problem: PC is not accessible via network

User had no right to change time, time on the PC was 30 minutes late.
It helped to log on as administrator and to manually set the correct time.
 

Xerox 8550 yellow colour

Problem: Yellow colour is tinted on Xerox Phaser 8550

Problem was caused by difference in solid ink -- there is one with bright yellow colour which works ok, and the one which is darker - which was the source of the problem with yellow colour. As shown on pics within their package.

Tune in PRO converting recording files

Problem: TuneIn PRO recorded files cannot be opened

Posts on the net suggest for users to simply add .mp3 as extension to the file name.
It doesn't work. Format factory recognized one of two files and converted it into mp3.

Remote sessions cannot save settings in registry

Unknown drivers Compaq nx9420

Problem: There are no drivers for Windows7 Laptop HP Compaq nx9420

There are no Windows7 drivers on official HP web page, Windows 7 instals most of the drivers, and after Windows Update there are 2 unknown drivers left:
Mass Storage Controller and PCI Simple Communications Controller

Windows offered driver - not through automatic updates but via Action Center - Messages.

Missing drivers were both from one source: Texas Instruments Cardbus Driver, sp43509.exe media card reader

Hyperlink in Office 2007 doesn't offer all pages

Problem: Probably due to continuous break there are no pages outside break for hyperlink selection.

Workaround is to create bookmark on desired page and then insert hyperlink with this new bookmark(s).

In Office 2007, select title you want to be linked,
in Insert tab, Action group, click Bookmark,
create a new name - which will be visible only in Hyperlink option, name should not contain special characters,

Outlook 2003 can't be opened

Via Control panel - Mail - find PST options for add and remove PST:
Problem was resolved by removing one PST (with its location in default folder) - it was cut/paste to another partition on disk. Outlook worked with that pst file added back again - from that new location. User had many pst files, all other pst were on

Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3 graphics adapter driver

Problem: Asrock Intel Series Z68 Pro3 Gen3 can't instal graphic's driver

Driver found on original Asrock Cd or Asrock Web page  didn't help, there is an error message "minimum requirements". Windows Update found driver and instal it without problem.

Unknown device (ACPI properties) can't be instaled - workaround is disabling option in BIOS:
Advanced - Intel(R) Smart Connect Technology - Disable it.

Lenovo G565 model 20071 Unknown device

Problem: There is unknown driver although all drivers were installed from Lenovo web page

Right click directs to ACPI as property for unknown driver.

LSM-100 has no OpenGL on Windows8

Problem: LG Mouse scanner is not working on Windows 8

Installing drivers for LSM-100 reports error at start that OpenGL is not found.
Windows8 Enterprise installed drivers for Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT however these are not sufficient for mouse scanner LSM-100.
Installing the newest drivers for Nvidia graphic's  card solved the problem and scan works on Windows 8.

HP2311x resolution not accepted

Problem: There is notification "set resolution 1920x1080" however you can't select it in display settings screen resolution

Problem was old graphics card - it was onboard card. Shows messages as "Input signal out of range" and "change settings to 1920x1080". However, the only resolution that was possible for HP2311x monitor to show on this old video card was 1280x1024. Otherwise it was either black screen or stretched screen.
Resolution is to buy a new video card -
for example for AGP slot - Ati Radeon HD 3450
or PCIe - Asus GT4400.

Excel move/copy sheet error

Problem: In Excel 2003, only the first 255 characters in each cell are copied.

Excel has limitied number of characters it can move to another worksheet, it reports this error when moving it:
The sheet you are copying has cells that contain more than 255 characters.
only the first 255 characters in each cell are copied.
To copy all of the characters, copy the cells to a new sheet instead of copying the entire sheet.

User should have in mind to limit contents of cells or when moving to another worksheet,
it will be copied only via selecting the whole sheet and simple copy-paste to another worksheet.
However, format will not be as original.

Run-time error '1004' Application-defined or object-defined error

Problem: In Excel 2003 and 2007 when button is clicked, there is this Visual basic error '1004'

Problem is not the code/macro as suggested on numerous web forums because this error didn't appear on other computers.
Problem was caused by local settings - instead of the language set in the computer (Croatian) - it was set to English (as shown on picture) and somehow Visual basic couldn't run normally. After setting the right language and restart, it worked ok, no error.

Control panel - Regional and Language options -
Advanced - Language for non-Unicode programs
Select a language (same as for the other options)

Insert copied cells not available in Excel

Problem: There is no "insert copied cells" option in excel

It was not available because some columns were hidden.
Unhide and then it worked ok.

Setting path for Java in command prompt of Win7

Problem: Typing javac in command line produce error "'JAVAC' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

To verify java version from windows you need to type javac -version in command prompt - but first set path as explained at:

adding the location (where JDK was installed).

There should be no space between other text already in path, path should look like this;

How to sum a cell with another cells in different worksheets

Problem: To sum cells from another sheets in Excel

 Formulae for the example shown on picture is:
=SUM(A1;+February!A1;+March!A1)

to sum sheets named after months- in this example with cells to be summed are found at A1 address, and result to be displayed in first sheet (that's why it's called A1 - it doesn't have January in name)

If we want sum to be displayed in new sheet, the same formulae would be:
=SUM(January!A1;+February!A1;+March!A1)

or with cells we want to calculate are found at A1:
=SUM(name-of-the-first-sheet!A1+name-of-the-other-sheet!A1)

Word - removing extra page

Problem: Microsoft Word - The last (blank) page can't be removed

In this instance, blank extra page at the end of document appeared because user tried to delete last line on the first page - which didn't do anything.
The cause of annoying extra page was between cells (as showed on picture). Positioning cursor at the right spot between cells and hitting del key here removed that extra page (but also joined two tables together).

Printer Samsung ML-2851 behaving erratically

Problem: ML-2851 when shared on the network blocks users randomly

Problem were drivers on Samsung web page.
It was solved by deinstaling printer drivers on all infected PCs. (Windows XP: also by removing Control Panel - Printers - File-Printer settings - Remove ML2851 drivers here also). And then drivers were installed by using drivers CD.
Web page by Samsung offers only universal drivers which cause problems.

Windows XP freeze after login

Problem: A few seconds after entering Windows, it freezes completely

Safe mode (press F8 after turning on PC) works ok, it helped to scan PC, there were various viruses.
Combofix, online scan - nothing helped. Repair also produced freezing - at 34th minute of repair-
problem was solved by formating PC.

HP ProBook 4710s after reinstal is at 100% CPU

Problem: Laptop 4710s is very slow before and after reinstal (format C), CPU at 100% when plugged

Quick solution is to unplug the power, to finish all instalation.
Safe mode works without interruption.

This didn't help at all:
Power options - HP Optimized selected, or if choose Power saver - it goes back to CPU 100% usage.
Options - Processor power management - lower than 100%, CPU usage still high.
Screen birightness - Windows mobility - Display Brighness - to 50%.

Mobile internet connects but no web page

Problem: Connection to Mobile network works however nothing displays over IE or Firefox

Viruses caused the problem.
Malwarebytes quick scan found them and once removed, internet worked ok.

In Outlook2010 link in a message is not working

Problem: After user clicks on a link in an Outlook message there is an error

Error is:
This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.
Microsoft web suggest that IE settings should be reset - this didn't help.

How to print BCC from Microsoft Outlook 2003

Problem: User needs hard copy of sent mail in BCC field

Excel forumula, enter data then a letter appears in another cell

Problem: How to enter a letter in one cell and another cell displays a number (or any character) corresponding to entered data?

cell K3 needs this forumulae;
=IF(G3="D";1;0)

cell L3 needs this forumulae;
=IF(G3="N";1;0)

So, user will enter D or N in cell G3
and in the same time cell K3 will display 1, and L3 will display zero.
If user enters some other letter than D or N, both cells will display 0.

Signature doesn't appear/is blank

Problem: Microsoft Outlook signature can be written in yet not displayed

The name of signature must not contain dot.
(for example "signature.name" is wrong, "signaturename" is ok)
If the name contains dot, there will be no error while creating signature, however it will not appear in e-mail.
This problem was found locally, it's not universal - other windows alllow dots in the signature name.

Paper tray can't be pulled out

Problem: Samsung ML-2851 paper tray got stuck

2 plastic hooks at the back of printer got hooked to rear side.
It can be pressed, push upward and thus released in its normal position.
Normally, there is plastic protection on place where tray get hooked upon.

Microsoft Office Document Scanning not showing multiple pages

Problem: There is "corrupt" message on additional pages when scanning with Miscrosoft scan and pages don't appear

Problem was program opening scaned image -
it was Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
Once the default program is changed to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and program closed,
all pages appeared.

Some e-mails can't open in Outlook 2003

Problem: "The text formatting command is not available. it may not be installed"

Reinstaling Office 2003 didn't help.
Re-instaling IE8 helped (as suggested by Microsoft web).

Docking station

Problem: First use of docking station - how to mount notepad

First move the plastic grip (L shape) all the way up, so notepad can fit without interruption.
Then, connect the parts of notepad with the docking station, they can't go wrong way. Press so that notepad sits in the docking station.
Then move the plastic grip so it can dock the notepad in its place, so the next mounting can go easier.

CONVERT excel formula is not working

Problem: Excel refuse to accept formula for Convert

Formula found in a book or on web site is:
=CONVERT(A1*5280, "ft", "m")/1000

or
=CONVERT(1.0, "lbm", "kg")

It should contain semi-colon (;) instead of virgola (,) in order to work:

=CONVERT(A1*5280; "ft"; "m")/1000

Also, if NONAME appears, as help on Microsoft web page suggest - Analysis pack should be instaled, that is, it should be selected in Tools - Add-ins - Analysis Tool-pak

Office 2007; Chart doesn't appear when no network

Problem: Only in Office 2007 a chart doesn't display, also printers are unavailable when no network present

In office 2003 everything works fine,
but in Office 2007 chart doesn't appear when network cable is disconnected. It turns out as grayed out, blank with background colour, with no selections available (as shown in picture). Also when there is no network, all printers or even print preview is unavailable - including pdf makers, local printers, network printers... Word works ok, this problem appear only in Excel.
Chart is displayed with no problem when network is connected and all printers are available when network cable is connected.

Problem was the default printer:

Once some other one was selected as the default one, everything worked fine.

HP Laserjet 6500A problems

Problem: HP Laserjet 6500A refuse to scan, then it makes a partial copy

Software installed on Windows7 from official CD for HP Laserjet 6500A results in on screen message
hp scan application cannot detect the ocr software
Problem probably begun because software was installed without printer physically connected to PC during instalation (there is an option to continue without connection). And problem was solved by unistaling and re-instaling the software.
However, once windows are in shut down, then started again, it should be linked every time, PC to printer, via HP 6500 software. This didn't happen on Windows XP.

Second problem, as a copier, results on only part copy and error message that paper size doesn't match. It was solvbed by firmware update on HP web page for HP Laserjet 6500A. Update itself was easy - click and run.
