Blue screen appears after booting system
Problem: Various BSD messages appear
PC resets after entering windows, BSD messages: page fault in nonpaged area, irql_not_less_or_equal, 0x0000000A, 0x0000007F, 0x00000050, NTFS.SYS, win32k.sys errors. After chkdsk from restore CD, this message appeard: "The volume appears to contain one or more unrecovable problems."
It worked ok after hdd test tools; from Hiren's, then Hitachi drive fitness test and same one on Ultimate boot cd. Hiren reported bad sectors, and Drive fitness test reported "0x00" report which means a software problem. (0x72 is bad HDD). After scan disk which was ran from repair mode on WIN XP setup CD, it reported errors and repairing. Scan disk was ran once more from Windows, after restart and also reported errors (as swhown on pic). When that same chkdsk was run before all these tests, it just restared the system even though it was booted from WINXP cd and in repair mode. As if these tests helped HDD to get sorted out?!

Excel do not show up
Problem: When opening document made in excel, it is not displayed
Symptoms: When shortcut of excel is opened, it is ok. But if any created excel documents are opened, it appears as if document is blocked from opening and nothing appears except toolbar. Document is not in "restore" mode, so maximize can't be done (which is often problem when excel document is not appearing). Also, office is deinstalled and reinstalled - and that didn't help. But when logging as other user (for example administrator, it works ok. This user also had macro button (on pic above it appears as yellow smiley, and when it's clicked on it, document appears!) Removal of that button didn't help. Checking visual basic script settings also didn't helped.
Solution: Since it works from other user, obvious solution was to replace current user with the new one and of course copy back all documents, pst files etc.

Windows Protection Activation
Problem: When entering in XP there is error "A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80004005"
Activation is not working.
Restart works, but after some time or opening IE, programs start to fail on by one (task manager also). Logging off and entering again in Windows produce Activation error again.
Solution found on Microsoft works:
3. Press 1 to access your primary drive installation with Recovery Console. 4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password. If you have not set an administrator password, press ENTER to continue. 5. Type cd %SystemRoot%\System32, and then press ENTER. 6. Rename the following files by using the REN command. To do so, follow this syntax: REN file_name.extension file_name.old • Wpa.dbl • Pidgen.dll • Actshell.html • Licdll.dll • Regwizc.dll • Licwmi.dll • Wpabaln.exe 7. Type the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive followed by a colon (for example, "D:"), and then press ENTER. 8. Type cd i386, and press ENTER. 9. Type the following commands one at a time. Press ENTER after each command: • expand licwmi.dl_ %systemroot%\system32 • expand regwizc.dl_ %systemroot%\system32 • expand licdll.dl_ %systemroot%\system32 • expand wpabaln.ex_ %systemroot%\system32 • expand wpa.db_ %systemroot%\system32 • expand actshell.ht_ %systemroot%\system32 • copy pidgen.dll %systemroot%\system32 10. Problem: There is message not allowing Internet properties through IE
Solution: There are various solutions on the net, but in this case, registry fix didn't help and other fixes. Also, microsoft web sites suggest to extraxt Inetcpl.cpl file, but they claim that it is to be found in Windows - System. The real location is Windows - System32. And solution in this case was to copy Inetcpl.cpl and Inetcpl.dll from PC that is working OK (with no restrictions problems). The PC that has problem will ask permission to replace those files- say yes.

PC freezes after boot
Problem: PC freezes also in Safe mode
When in normal mode, it freezes just after login, and when HDD is taken to another PC, and scanned for viruses and spyware there is blue screen message Physical memory dumping.
Also other symptoms and diagnosis: Boot CD ERD Commander do not show folders, Windows Instalation CD in repair mode check disk with no problems found, and HDD test is successful.
Solution from the web that helped in this case is to defrag HDD:
1st: you have no choice, you need to restart your pc. 2nd: go to Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Defragmenter 3rd: click analyze. it takes time to analyze, so be patient. When it says "you need to defrag this volume" proceed to 4th step. 4th: click defragment. it also takes time to defrag, need more patience here.
When it say memory dumping, your memory can't take anymore the error of your hard disk. The volume of your hard disk is messing up. The volume need to be fix. You won't let your memory card suffer from all errors inside your hard disk don't you? This error won't show up again if you defrag your hard disk once a week or twice a month.
If the error still occur even you maintain to defrag your hard disk, Oh men you need to add an additional memory card because your memory is insufficient. "can't handle large programs"

Error "Word has not been installed for the current user"
Problem: When opening word 2003 (excel, pp etc) there is error message to reinstal office
Solutions found on the net do not work :resolution from microsoft.com to unistall and to edit Registry, to delete folder Office in Program files ( which makes windows unstable!! ), to edit permissions in registry, also editing security tab for C drive or Program files folder also do not help.
This web page solved the problem:
http://www.tabletquestions.com/microsoft-office/114489-mircrosoft-office-word-has-not-been-installed-current-user.html
1) Create a Windows Account with full control admin rights, and thengo ahead and log into that new account.
2) When under the newly created account, open every Office product youhave, then close one at a time (Excel, Word, PP, etc...)
3) After opening every Office App, go into the registry editor (Start Run, then type in Regedit)
4) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Office, andhighlight Office
5) Then right click on Office, and go to Export, save the .reg file tosomewhere you will be able to find it (Root of C:\ for me)
6) Log off your temp Windows account, and log back in under yournormal Windows account that was giving you the error.
7) Open regedit again, and then go to File Import and pick the filethat was exported.
8) After it says that it was successfully imported, go ahead and trythe app that was giving you problems.
Now it should work, just like it did for me. Also, remember you delete the temp account that you created!!

Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. 22. On the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services. 23. Click the Services tab, and then click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box. 24. In the Services list, click to select each of the services check boxes, and then click OK. 25. Restart your computer several times to make sure that all devices and services are loading correctly. 26. When you are sure that all devices are working correctly, right-click the following registry entry on your desktop, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Example for Compaq nx6110:
Network is not working, and when following above resolution step by step, in step 15 - when one should find the name of network card, on web pages with the specifications for nx6110 it says that network card inside nx6110 is NetXtreme (10/100 NIC) PCI Express Ethernet Controller. But in registry there is no Netextreme to be found! Actually it is found under Broadcom (search for "Broadcom" in registry), and after resolution, installed network card for nx6110 is actually identified as Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Contoller and not as Netextreme

HP Compaq 6710s - further problems
Problem: after installation of Win XP, there are problems with drivers
First, if it is installed with XP with latest patches and updates, there are no problems with modem and audio. But if all drivers that are found on HP.COM are installed, then miniport #3 appears with exclamation point (!) and it cannot be uninstalled.
So, when hdd is formatted and installed all over again with basic Win XP Service pack2, there is no miniport error at all but there is instead a problem with audio and uknown driver. Plus, not all drivers from Hp.com-support web site should be installed - in order to avoid phantom miniport driver.
To resolve Audio driver - first there must be installed KB888111XPSP2.exe patch (for some reason not found on microsoft.com but via google resources) - in order to resolve error "HDA AUDIO BUS DRIVER". And then instal official audio driver found on hp.com.
Unknown driver - it is quick launch driver, keyboard-filter_01. Also found on hp.com

Canon MF4100 have toner but display "no toner"
Problem: Although toner FX100 is in printer/fax/scanner Canon MF4100 - it displayes toner error "insert toner catridge, lift cover etc"
Solution: First remove all papers stacked for printing, then remove toner catridge and of course return toner back inside. One paper was in printer set to print - it should be removed, somehow it made canon to think that there's no toner.
